This Day in History: 1895-03-28

In response to disturbances in Chitral and the Swat Valley the Indian Government established a Chitral Relief Force of 15,000 commanded by Major General Sir Robert Low. On 28 March 1895 the 2nd Battalion was ordered to join the Moveable Column commanded by Colonel Gaslee at Abbottabad together with 7th Mountain Battery (British), 8th Mountain Battery (Bengali) and the 5th Goorkhas.
