Captain John Robinson, who had been mortally wounded at Dargai, died of his wounds. According to the Regimental History: ‘The Regiment had lost a true friend who had endeared himself to every officer and man and who with almost his last breath enquired after his beloved corps and sent greetings to all’.  When the awards for the campaign were published it was announced that had he survived his services would have been brought to the special notice of Her Majesty The Queen.
