This Day in History: 1901/12/12

The 1st Battalion, strengthened by drafts from the 2nd Battalion 2nd Goorkhas and the 2nd Battalion of the 3rd Gurkha Rifles, deployed to Datta Khel in the Tochi Valley on the North West Frontier. They formed part of a Column commanded by Colonel Tonnochy which also included 5th Punjab Infantry, 2nd Punjab Infantry and 2 guns of the Mountain Artillery.
