This Day in History: 1915-05-25

Major Sweet, Acting Commandant, the Adjutant and two orderlies were carrying out a recce amongst the redoubts along the Albert Road. On their right flank was the recently-arrived Highland Division of whom an over-zealous subaltern of the 5th Seaforths made them prisoners. They were detained for some while before this absurd and inconvenient situation was resolved by the company commander with profuse apologies from the Commanding Officer of the 5th Seaforths.
