This Day in History: 1915-07-26

The 2nd Battalion, part of the Dehra Dun Brigade and still in rest billets at Calonne in France, participated in a gymkhana which attracted a large number of people including the Corps Commander (General Sir James Willcocks) and the General Commanding the Meerut Division (Lieutenant General CA Anderson). This was followed by sports organised by 8th Brigade Royal Field Artillery in which some of the 2nd Goorkhas competed and carried off prizes.
