This Day in History: 1918-10-06

In Persia, Captain Dallas-Smith of the 1st Battalion took command of a small column consisting of 100 officers and men from the 1st Battalion itself, one squadron of the 14th Hussars, one armoured car section, and two rifle companies of the 7th Gloucestershire Regiment.  Deploying from Zinjan, their objective was a punitive raid on two nearby villages for their ill treatment of some men from 1/4th Hampshire Regiment.
