This Day in History: 1926/12/06

The 1st Battalion the King’s Royal Rifle Corps (KRRC) relieved the 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters and joined the 2nd Battalion at Razmak. It was a happy reunion and the first time that the two units had served together since Delhi Ridge in 1857. They later wrote to the Regiment: “. . . the sentiment and love for ‘our brother’s the Goorkhas’ is as warm as ever. Among all the Regiments in the Army there is not one with which we feel ourselves on quite the same terms of comradeship.”
