General Sir Kenneth Wigram became Colonel of the Regiment, serving until 20 March 1946. He had commanded the 2nd Battalion from 1920-22. From 1931 to 1934 he was Chief of the General Staff of the Indian Army and from 1934 to 1936 was General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command in India.
