This Day in History: 1943-02-15

Number One Column of the 1st Chindit Expedition, loosely based on A Company of the 3rd Battalion, had its first contact with the Japanese enemy after crossing the River Chindwin on the night of 14/15 February.  All the Column’s mules bolted but were recovered by Number Two Column (B Company) which was nearby.
