This Day in History: 1945-05-11

A fighting patrol from A Company of the 4th Battalion killed 4 Japanese for the loss of one Gurkha.  Another fighting patrol commanded by the Intelligence Officer, Lieutenant D C Purves, stalked an enemy force which was successfully ambushed by a platoon from B Company and killed 7 Japanese.  Two Samurai swords were found amongst the miscellaneous booty.
