B Company (Major Reddick) moved out of Tanbingon towards Ondaw when an enemy patrol was ambushed resulting in 9 Japanese killed against 2 Gurkhas wounded. It later transpired that this enemy group was the advance guard of a much larger enemy force which proceeded to engage the Gurkhas with heavy fire.
