This Day in History: 1954-04-29

Corporal Humbir Thapa of the 1st Battalion fell into a pig trap set by local villagers. A poisoned spear pierced his thigh, but he survived. On the same day Rifleman Manbahadur Gurung was seized by a python from a tree and was unable to move. Luckily his brother, Lalitbahadur, was only a few paces behind and, whipping out his kukri, decapitated the snake.
