Lieutenant Colonel Gordon Richardson completed his period in command of the 2nd Battalion. He was unique in having commanded both battalions for full tours: 5 years with the 1st Battalion and 3 with the 2nd. He later retired as a Brigadier after commanding 63 Gurkha Infantry Brigade and the British Gurkha Lines of Communication in Nepal.
