30 Indonesians attacked the Malayan police post at Tebedu, 3 miles inside the border of Sarawak’s First Division, killing a police Corporal and wounding 2 constables before looting the bazaar and withdrawing across the border. This was the first action of the ‘Confrontation’ campaign in which the Regiment was to be closely involved over the next 3 years.
