A service of Thanksgiving took place at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst for the 179 years’ service of the Regiment. The Queen’s Truncheon was placed, as a ‘Living Colour’, into the care of the National Army Museum in the Indian Army Memorial Room at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst until 27 April 1997, when it was taken back into regimental use by The Royal Gurkha Rifles, the successor Regiment to the 2nd Goorkhas.
