Chairman Captain Raju outlined the overall format for the Delhi Day gathering at Shorncliffe on 14 Sep 24. British Officer attendance was to be encouraged. d. The Gurkha Memorial Museum Pokhara. The new Museum Chairman Capt Karnabahadur Thapa reported a steady increase in activity levels at the Museum post COVID. Fundraising was encouraging, specifically in support of an elevator. Key developments were the repair of the Lal Gate, the establishment of a Souvenir Shop and a new meeting/ entertainment gallery. e. The Burlison Legacy. £10,000 left to the Trust by late Maj John Burlison. Majority of funds to be spent in support of the Gurkha Museum Pokhara to complement Maj Burlison’s extensive service in Nepal. Capt Karnabahadur said these funds would be spent on a new facility at the Museum, to be named The Burlison Gallery, to support meetings and events and for briefings to VIP visitors. An estimate of the costs involved would be about £7,780. After discussion it was agreed to send £8,000 to the GMMP and £2,000 to be allocated to the Paltan ko Itihas project. f. The meeting was informed that this year Col Hinton would be in Nepal in Nov 2024 and would be meeting Sirmooris in Pokhara and Kathmandu. He would also be visiting GMMP to look at the progress on Burlison Gallery. 5. 167 th Delhi Day Celebration, 14 September 2024. All SCN Branches would celebrate 167 th Delhi Day in the usual manner in their respective locations on 14 September 2024. Branch Chairmen and Area Representatives were asked to update their attendance lists well ahead.
