This Day in History: 1857-06-17

Sepoy Ticca Ram was wounded at Delhi on 17 June and died that evening.  Major Charles Reid, the Commandant, wrote ‘This little fellow was one of the best shots in the Regiment. He had killed 22 tigers in the Dhoon. He was asleep, poor fellow, when he was wounded.’
