This Day in History: 1891-11-02

The 1st Battalion returned to India from Manipur. The journey took 33 days: after marching for the first 5 days through primary jungle to Nigriting, they embarked on the river steamer Koshunze to travel down the River Brahmaputra to Goalundo, from where they travelled by train to Roorkee and finally marched via Hardwar to Dehra Dun.
