This Day in History: 1936-04-05

The Regimental Newsletter reported that the Regimental Institute had acquired its first wireless which enabled the men to listen to local and international stations, including the funeral service for King George V that year.  It added ‘Men however are still trying to look round and inside the set to see where the noise comes from.  Unfortunately none of us [the British Officers] are knowledgeable enough to explain.’
