This Day in History: 1938-09-09

Since its presentation in 1863 The Queen’s Truncheon had always resided with the 1st Battalion. Due to the prolonged absence of the 1st Battalion in Waziristan, in 1938 the 2nd Battalion took over the duties of the Truncheon Guard for the first time in its history at Dehra Dun.
