This Day in History: 1948-06-18

The Government in Malaya declared a State of Emergency in the face of terrorism by the Malay Communist Party and their military wing, the Malay Races Liberation Army, intended to overthrow the established regime and create a communist state. For the next 12 years both the 1st and 2nd Battalions of the Regiment would be involved in operations to locate and kill or capture the Communist Terrorists (CTs).
