C Company of the 1st Battalion had a firefight with Indonesians on the banks of the Sungei Angkuah in Borneo at a range of about 400m. One enemy was killed. 10 Platoon, commanded by Lieutenant Lalitbahadur Gurung, caught an enemy section in the follow-up and killed 5 enemy in thick undergrowth, an action for which he was awarded the Military Cross. The following morning another platoon killed 2 more.
