3.8

A member may resign by written notice to the Association. Membership fee of

£5 cannot be refunded and also will not be eligible to vote.

3.9

The Committee may terminate the membership of any individual or

organisation whose continued membership would in the reasonable view of the

Committee be harmful to the Association (but only after notifying the member

concerned in writing and considering the matter in the light of any written

representations which the member puts forward within 14 clear days after

receiving notice).

3.10

Membership of the Association is not transferable.

PRESIDENT AND VICE-PRESIDENT

4.1

A former Gurkha Officer and any other ranks of the former 2GR Regiment

(who is willing and capable) could be elected as President at a General Meeting to

which the Committee could propose nominations and the term of post.

4.2

With the sanction of the President, the Committee may appoint a member(s) to

become Vice-President(s).

THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE’S ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

5.1

Control of the affairs of the Association shall be vested on the Association’s

Executive Committee, hereinafter referred to as the

‘Committee’.

5.2

The Committee when complete consists of at least four and not more than

ten individuals, all of whom must be Full members of the Association. The

Executive Committee Members of the Association are all honorary (ie, non-

paid) appointments, whose duties are as follows:

5.3 The Chairman

(a)

Chair all meetings of the Committee

(b)

Supervise the Accounts.

(c)

Delegate responsibilities.

(d)

Authorise expenses in accordance with the rules.

(e)

In case of a 50-50 vote, he is authorised to cast the deciding vote.

(f)

If he is unable to attend the annual SRA(SC) and Trustees’ meeting,

then he is to ensure that either the Vice-Chairman or General Secretary or

Treasurer attends it.
