GENERAL MEETINGS

8.1

All members are entitled to attend General Meetings of the Association in

person.

8.2

General Meetings are called by 21 clear days’ written or electronic or verbal

notice to members specifying the business to be transacted.

8.3

There is a quorum at a General Meeting if the number of Full members

personally present is at least fifty.

8.4

The Chairman will chair all General Meetings of the Association. In his

absence, the Vice-Chairman of the Association shall preside. If both of

them are unavailable, the Gen Sec or the Treasurer will chair.

8.5

Except where otherwise provided in this Constitution, every issue at a General

Meeting is determined by a simple majority of the votes cast by the Full

members in person, by postal or electronic means.

8.6

Except for the Chairman of the meeting, who has a second or casting vote,

every Full member present is entitled to one vote on every issue.

8.7

An Annual General Meeting (AGM) must be held once a year. As far as

possible, it should be held just after the SRA(SCUK)/2GR Trustees’

meeting, which takes place once a year usually at the end of February.

8.8

At an AGM the Members:

(a)

Receive the accounts of the Association for the previous Financial Year

from the Treasurer.

(b)

Receive the report of the Committee on the Association’s activities since

the previous

AGM

from the General Secretary.
